Johnny Blaze in the 90s

Oh Johnny! What have they done to you?

What's with that chain?

So a lot of unfortunate character designs came out of the 90s. Blaze was the Ghost Rider in the 70s and 80s, before Danny Ketch was made the new GR in the early 90s. Somewhere along the way somebody at Marvel decided Blaze could use an extreme makeover and gave him this new cyborg look. Actually it was only pieces of metal covering the places where his skin was cut away by the bad guys in that one issue, but it's easy to see what look they were going for.

He looks like he's having a belly laugh to me <D
"The carnival has been destroyed! Ahahahaha!"

I have to admit this is pretty awesome.

It wasn't the worst redesign to come out of that decade. I rate it 2 flaming motorcycles out of a maximum of 5 on a scale of awful costumes. It wasn't all bad, and some artists made it look better than others. All in all it didn't matter a whole lot to me anyway, as he never was one of my favorite characters anyway!
